About Me
Matt Butcher is a developer, entrepeneur, writer, and speaker.
Matt co-founded Fermyon Technologies in 2021 (acquired by Akamai). A venture-backed company, Fermyon built a new generation of serverless computing powered by WebAssembly.
He has authored eight books. He is active in the open source cloud native world, having created the Illustrated Children’s Guide to Kubernetes series. He created the Helm package manager for Kubernetes as well as many other open source tools.
During his career, Matt has worked for a variety of companies large and small, including Microsoft, Google, HP, and (currently) Akamai.
Matt holds a PhD in Philosophy. He is interested in epistemology and ethics. He has taught at both undergraduate and graduate level.
